Soil Testing Lab
KVK ALD has a well-equipped soil testing lab and is functioning very well. Latest digital machines for soil testing for agriculture purposes are available with us. The coverage area is almost the entire district of Allahabad along with adjoining districts.
The tests available with us are :
- NPK
- Sulphur
- Zinc
- Iron
- Boron
- Manganese
- pH
- Electrical conductivity (EC)
- Organic Carbon (OC)
Based on these tests an automated computer program generates the recommendation of different fertilizers and Farm yard manure for different crops which is given to the farmers to avoid over dose or under dose, blind and uninformed use of fertilizers which only tend to harm the crop, the soil, the ecological balance and consequently the economy of the farmer.

We also impart training to UG and PG students of the university so that they get the hands-on experience on various machines andcomprehend the importance of soil testing for crops.
Trainings are also imparted to farmers to make them understand the importance of soil properties for the crops.
Soil health camps are also organized from time to time at village level.
